humpday confessions

I really hate to confess this but, I don't have an outfit post for you today...

I know that it's Wednesday, and usually I share at least one outfit, but to tell the truth, I just didn't feel like dressing up, and taking a picture. It happens. Plus it was raining like four out of the seven days this week, and it seriously sucked.

But, I would like to hop on the cool kid train, and get some shit off my chest. K? K.

So, in true Humpday fashion, I confess....

-no, i am not wearing a pink shirt right now, but as an ode to mean girls (happy 10th), i will be wearing one later.

- some days blogging has a tendency to feel like work, and i have to make myself write.

- some of those days that i have to make myself write, i have no idea what to write about. f you writer's block.

- one of those days i finally find something to write about, i would like to host my own link up, but i'm afraid that no one will join my party.

- i really like the blog posts with all the gifs, but i literately have no idea where to find them, so i can be one of the cool kids.

- i am seriously freaking out about graduation. eventually i will write a post about it, but for now, i will keep my insecurities all to myself. just know that i am freaking out about the aftermath...

- i am also seriously tired and over all of the justin timberlake "it's gonna be may" memes all over facebook.

- i have really been missing the taste of dr.pepper lately, but i know that it will make me sick if i try to drink it, and that pisses me off. f you migraine medication.

- i really wish i could win my own $100 target giveaway... oh, have you entered? no, well, you better get on that!

- personal issues have been consuming my thoughts lately, and since i want this place to be my happy place, i can't really talk about them. i hate that. i think of you guys as my friends, and love the encouragement, but for the sake of privacy and what not, i can't elaborate.

- i need to stop signing up for swap boxes. i love getting to know other bloggers and making new friends, and it's a great way to promote my etsy shop by gifting custom wine glasses, but most limits are $20. unfortunately one of those personal issues have to do with money, and it seems like the month that the box needs to go out, is the month that i am running short. either i need to stop procrastinating (ahem, earth to me), or just stop signing up.

- i think that every blog post needs at least one pictures and speaking of my etsy shop, i have some pretty pictures to share with you guys.

- i confess that i am linking up with: shanna, liz, kathy, and bella :)

April Favorites

one | two | three | four | five | six

Like last month, I haven't had the pleasure of trying a lot of beauty products this month. Infact, with the exception of one, it may seem as though I have rounded up my favorite drugstore beauty products. Ha! This really wasn't planned, I promise. But, I do have to say that compared with February and March, this month's favorites are definitely more wallet friendly.

It's no secret that I seriously love EOS products- I keep a lip balm in reach at all times- but until this month, I hadn't tried the Hand Lotion. I saw it at the checkout a couple of months ago, stuck a couple in some swap boxes, and picked one up for myself. And forgot about it. Long story short, I love this stuff. The smell is perfect for Springtime and it is super moisturizing!

I have a habit of trying face masks... and plan to do a full review here soon. Anyways, I had seen this product advertised in every beauty magazine I had picked up in the past two months, so of course I had to try it. The box contains four masks, and basically all you do is wash you face, and then rub it on for 60 seconds. It's that easy! And after using it, I could tell a difference in my skin texture and pores immediately. Oh, and the clean feeling... yep, definitely worth the price.
I had been looking for an amazing concealer for some time. Yes, I had bought the fake-up, which is a concealer, but it's mainly used for under eye concealing. Basically I needed something that would be multi-purpose. So, I went to Ulta, and picked up this. Ulta has a nice return policy, and if I didn't like it, I could just return it. Yeah, so, I loved it. It's a great concealer, super easy to use, and I can see why it won Allure's Reader's Choice Awards for best department store concealer in 2013.

Most dry shampoos leave a nasty and greasy residue behind, not this one. Oh, and I love how when I spray it, it doesn't choke me out either.

It's hard to put down in words how much I am in love with this stuff. It's simply amazing. It serves as a base coat, top coat, and strengthener. Oh, and it dries quickly. Yeah... hands down best thing for nails since the nail file- in my opinion.

If I'm using foundation, then there is a 99.9% chance that I am using primer. It's a beautiful thing, but there are so many primers out on the market, so it's hard to choose the best one. Well, today, I am going to tell you that Smashbox Primers are as good as it gets. There are simply amazing. BUT they are expensive, and being a mom with a kid in diapers and student with student loan sharks swarming, ain't nobody got time to deal with that. Enter E.L.F... I picked up a bottle at an affordable price and fell in love! It is basically the same... aka a dupe, but doesn't come with the high price tag. Oh, I've even heard this stuff comes in green and purple...

All of the products, except the concealer, you can find at Target. And the best thing? I am joining forces with a few other amazing ladies to give you a chance to win $100 to Target! Ahem... new beauty products? Swimsuit? Clothes? Shoes? Yeah, the possibilities are endless.... You can enter here! #yourwelcome

Iced coffee surprise, bubbles, and new shop pretties

Happy Friday pretty people!!!

The sun is shinning and it's nice to walk outside without a coat, so I am actually in a great mood on this gorgeous day! And the best thing? This week has been so good, so good! Why? Well, let me tell ya!!!

+ On Saturday my co-worker randomly brought me an iced coffee. Now mind you, I don't drink hot coffee, and I am rather picky about iced coffee, but it was a nice gesture indeed. I took one sip, and surprisingly, I fell inlove!!!

+ I made my first double layer cake for Easter, and even though it looks like a third-grader iced it, I am still proud of myself.

+ The Easter Bunny hid eggs in Grandma's yard, and it was really fun to watch Lil Man search for them.

+ I love bubbles. Period.

+ I did my first guest post this week at September Farm! And I am doing a celebratory giveaway... "winner's choice" of anything in my Etsy shop!

+ I also made some new pretties for my Etsy shop this week, and they are now available. Oh, and until Monday, you can use code TINYWISHES40 for 40% off your entire order, just as a Thank you for just being awesome!

+ Graduation is next week, and I am seriously psyched!

+ There is still time to enter the $200 stella & dot gift card giveaway!

Yeah, my week was totally awesome! And to celebrate, I'm kickin it old school with this hot jam:

The Good Life

{via}
Blogs are supposed to be a happy place, right? And it's really easy for a blogger to represent themselves in an edited light to achieve that goal. We can choose to share the happy, the ugly, the downright insane, or even pretend that we ride on unicorns that shit rainbows.

Basically it's kind of rare for a blogger to dive into their deepest fears or open themselves up and show the "real" side. That side that houses the flaws. That side that locks down the mental issues. Now, I'm not saying that we all belong in a psych ward (well.... ok, some of u do), but you should get where I'm going with this.

Why am I addressing this? I read two different posts, and I fell in love with both. The first one was from The Day Book, and the second one was from Erin at Living In Yellow. I loved the rawness of The Day Book's blog, and I loved Erin's response to the post. Why? Well, usually you don't see bloggers talking about their flaws.

On a side note, I love that shit. The talking about flaws and showing "behind the scenes" photos that paint a blogger in a different light. The light that shows that they are actually just like you and me (except more awesome) and just trying to make the world a prettier place. Call me sick and twisted, but I love the humanizing effect of it.

Anyways, all of this leads me to my conclusion- I want this to be my happy place. Sure, I want to be able to show you guys the real me, but I want to stay optimistic, and show the “shitty shit” in a good light (if that’s even possible). I don’t really want to be that person who whines about how their life sucks (that’s for Facebook), because blogs aren't supposed to be like that. They are supposed to be happy, and are there to serve a purpose: entertainment, learning, or just to be. And I kinda want to be able to escape from the real world and take a ride on that rainbow shitting unicorn. Why? Because sometimes the sugar-coated fluffy place is better.

I mean, do you guys really want to hear about how my husband had his tooth pulled, and then bled on my white comforter? Or how apparently I am so absent minded that I forgot to pay a credit card payment last month, and now they are blowing up my phone non-stop, and instead of answering the phone, I choose to ignore them, and put my phone on vibrate? Or that I had high hopes for my Etsy shop and I have only sold three wine glasses and a couple of earrings (not that I'm complaining)? Or how after three in a half years, my son finally decides to puke in the middle of a restaurant (he's ok now). Or how I use a straighter like everyday, and my ends are fried? Yeah, probably not.

You guys don't come here for the sad stuff. You guys come here for the happy things. The somewhat "edited" side of me. You guys want to see the good life...

By the way, that's how I look on a daily basis... jeans, t-shirt, flip-flops. And that is a completely unedited photo. Yeah...

Oh, how do I know that you guys want the good life? Well, because the beauty review and happy posts (and giveaways) tend to receive more views than the real shit posts. Says Captain Obvious.

Ha! Yeah... anyways, just remember the next time you are reading one of my happy posts, I am just like you. Sometimes my hair looks h-to-the-orrible, I usually don't change out of sweats or yoga pants unless I'm going somewhere or taking pictures for you pretties, my kid doesn't always listen, I forget things, my house is always a mess, and more; yeah, this list can go on and on.

If you don't want to remember all that, just remember that you are just as awesome as I am, and the rainbow shitting unicorn is worth the ride. Well, most of the time.

My top ten Instagram fails

I have a confession... I was reading Tay's blog the other day, and something made a lot of sense to me. She was showcasing her top Instagram fails, (you know, cause us bloggers like to talk about the stuff we are doing wrong and all) and I realized that maybe I'm doing the whole Insta-world thing wrong.

Why?

Well, my blog IG and my personal IG are one in the same. I post pictures that pertain to my blog (aka promote posts), but I also post pictures of Lil Man that are cute and pictures of random shit. Maybe I should fix that. Then again this isn't such a big fail, but it sure makes it easy to stalk me ;)

Anyways....

One | The "I think this is cool, and I'm going to post it because I'm bored" post....

And of course that one didn't even get any likes... I wonder why...

Two |  The "I love moose, so I'm going to take a selfie with it post"...

Thanks for the likes guys... Magnus and I really appreciated it!

Three | The "I just got a haircut and have the need to show it off" post...

That wasn't even a good picture and my teeth look yellow. OMG... ick.

Four | The "It's f-ing hot out, and I think everyone should know" post.

Yes, it was extremely hot a couple of summers ago, and  apparently I just wanted to share the triple digits. But, as you can see, no one liked it, again. Why? Cause newsflash... NO ONE CARED!

Five | The " I have way too much makeup and I wanna show it off" post...

One like... ppft. Noone cares, and the braggy needs to stop.

Six | The "I really don't want to post this, but I'm doing a stupid photo challenge" post...

I don't even look happy in this picture. I was stressed and tired, and for some reason I felt the need to share that with everyone for the sake of a photo challenge... Yeah, definitely not one of my best moments, and I must apologize.

Seven | The "Hey I'm watching  a movie, so I must document it" post...

I'm twenty-eight, not twelve. I need to just stop.

Eight | The "Bathroom selfie" post...

This picture sucks. I had just gotten out of the shower, so my hair was wet, and I looked like crap. And my mirror was dirty... Word to the wise, if you are going to take a "bathroom selfie" make sure it's at least a good one!

Nine | The "Food" post...

Of all the food choices to photograph, I chose to photograph Taco Bell... smh.

Ten | The "mirror selfie"...

I take so many mirror selfies that if my followers don't know what kind of phone I have by now, apparently they just don't pay attention or are living under a rock. I need to stop this. And I need to stop lying... the necklace was ugly. No wonder why it only go three likes.

Yeah.... So I am proud to say that I have actually gotten better at the whole Instagram thing. I am starting to edit my photos with a nice little editing app, and getting more picky about what I post, which is good news for my followers. But then again, does it really matter if people don't care or "like" what I post? Not really, cause I love to take pictures and share them with the world!

Oh, and a couple of things... I'm linking up with ShannaLizBella, & Kathy, if you stop by September Farm later today, you will see my guest post (and find a discount code for my Etsy shop), and there is still time to enter the $200 stella & dot giveaway!

April Birchbox Review

This month was my second month receiving a Birchbox, and I still love it.

For those of you who don't know what Birchbox is, in a nutshell, you receive 4-5 samples and 1 full size product every month according to the beauty profile that you fill out. You receive beauty products (which includes hair and makeup) and one lifestyle item for $10 a month. You also can cancel at any time. It's a pretty nice "try before you buy" service, as no box is ever the same.

The theme of April's box was "rainy days". Basically the idea was that it would be more enjoyable to spend a rainy day reading a good book or playing with beauty samples instead of being bored.

This was my box:

I received: Atelier Cologne in Orange Sanguine, Color Cub Gala's Gem Collection in Gold Struck, Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner in Suman (black), BeeKind Body Lotion, and KIND Snacks Health Grains Bar in Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt flavor.

The Atelier Cologne in Orange Sanguine smells amazing. At first smell, it reminded me of a warm summer day at the beach. I loved it, and felt that it would be the perfect summer scent.

The nail polish, which is one of four colors exclusive to Birchbox, is a nice polish. It is more suitable for my toes (since I have a thing with dark polish on my fingers), and it is thick, but it's a really pretty color.

The Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner was interesting. Another Birchbox exclusive, the soft wax glided on a little too well, and was easy to use; but I wish it was in brown (I'm not a big black eyeliner person), since by the day, I looked like a raccoon. But it didn't irritate my eyes, which was a plus.

I'm a fan of Gilchrist and Soames, from March's box, and the BeeKind Body Lotion was no different. It smells like a cross between orange and lemon (even though it's honey and chamomile), is super moisturizing, and is eco-friendly; meaning that it's free of parabens, phthalates, petrol-derived ingredients, mineral oil, urea, DEA, TEA, and propylene glycol.

The lifestyle extra I received was the KIND Snacks Health Grains Bar. I absolutely loved this bar. I liked the size, that it was free of preservatives, and was healthy, yet filling.

So yeah, I received a great box. I used everything in it, unlike last month, and even reused the actual box itself, to give my bestie a birthday gift.

Am I still happy with my Birchbox subscription? Yes, I am.

And the nice thing? Between last month and this month, I finally have racked up enough points, to get $10 off an order. So that's the nice thing. And you know what I'm going to buy??

Source

Every couple of months, Birchbox will come out with a limited edition box. This month's box is the "Free for All" box which is full of products free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, petrochemicals, and GMOs. Oh, and that burlap bag that says "Feed"? Yeah, that helps provide 10 school meals to kids globally. Pretty nice feeling, if you ask me.

Have you joined Birchbox yet? What are you waiting for? You can do it here.

Chasing bubbles {and giving away a $200 gift card}

Let's face it, Monday's have tendency to suck. I mean we have all seen the little memes about if Monday was a person and all... so yeah, and today would have to suck especially for all the lovelies out there that just had a three day weekend for the holiday. But, don't be discouraged! I'm going to turn your Monday into a Funday with a nice lil giveaway! Well after I give you a recap of my weekend. :)

Friday was Friday, and nothing really happened. I mean you could go back and read my previous blog post about how last week was super awesome and all, but that's about it. I'm a Mom, and I would rather spend my Friday nights curled up on the couch, watching a movie with my Lil Man. #sorrynotsorry

Saturday was a ten hour workday. There were a ton of issues and we were slightly understaffed (it turned out ok). Ugh! But the bright side came in the form of an iced coffee from one of my co-workers (love her!!) and the nice weather permitting me to spend some time outside with my clients. When I left work, I went to Target to get stuff for Lil Man's basket, and then when I got home, we dyed Easter eggs. He loved it!

Sunday I was off, and it was the best day of the whole weekend! Easter has always been that Spring-is-finally-here affirming type of holiday for me, and I hope it's rubbing off on my son. In the morning, Lil Man went to find the eggs that the "Easter Bunny" left at Grandma's house for him, then he helped Mommy make a cake, and then went back to Grandma's for dinner and bubble fun. I am pretty sure that he actually did have fun, especially since he was in bed by 8:30pm (which gave Mommy time to catch up on replying to blog comments)!

Yeah, Sunday rocked! And that's why I'm linking up with Leeann, Bella, & Lisa Nicole!

Oh, yeah, speaking of Bella... remember that giveaway I was talking about? Well, I am teaming up with her and eight other fabulous ladies to give you a chance to win a $200 stella & dot gift card. Um... that's two-hundred big ones to spend on jewelry, bags, scarves, and whatever else you want. Yeah... I wish I could enter. Good Luck!!!!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

A bunny, a martini & a thirty-one purse {my weekly recap}

Happy Friday friends!

Each week seems to be getting better and better. Maybe it's due to the fact that I sometimes only share the good (aka my edited life), but maybe it's also due to the fact that I'm a full blown optimist. Sure, I do the whole "why me" in a bad situation, but I always try to see the other side of it: the good side. That's why Allie and Jen's Pit and Peak helps with that. Their link up, is a bit different then the norm... it allows someone to see the good with the bad. Cause let's be honest, we can't all ride around on unicorns that shit rainbows all day.

Pits

- My brother was in a car accident this week. He's ok, but it was really scary to hear about it, and not know what was going on right away (my parents were with him, and relaying info to me). He walked away with some bruises, and apparently the car is totaled.

- The same day as the accident, my hubby woke up with a super itchy red rash all over his face, neck, and torso. I thought it was shingles (chicken pox for adults), so he called off and went to an Urgent Care clinic. Turns out, he was having a reaction to the antibiotic that he was taking. Yeah...

- The season finale of Scandal sucked. #justsayin. I'm a little irritated that I have to wait the whole summer to find out if Olivia gets off the damn plane, or stands in the sun with Jake (knowing Olivia, she will turn the plane around and go to Fitz... damn it Olivia, why are you so predictable!).

Peaks

+ Lil Man was able to see the bunny this week! Of course he's not comfortable with dressed up characters just yet, so we have a picture of me with Lil Man on my lap, the bunny, and the hubby. At least Lil Man smiled.

+ My bestie, who I haven't seen in like a year in a half, came in this week. We did dinner on Tuesday night, saw a movie, and had a drink. It was really nice to see her face! (Oh, and I found out that she reads my blog everyday!)

+ I had my first martini this week!

+ After some snow earlier in the week, it seems as if it's going to warm up for Easter. Which is nice, because I'm off. So with the nice weather, Lil Man was able to go to the park, and play with the Bestie's kids!

+ A Thirty-One purse that I was able to get half-off came in, and I am so happy that I bought it. I love the colors! It's so perfect for all mine and Lil Man's stuff when we go to the mall or whatnot.

+ I wore the mint jeans that have been sitting in my closet for the past two years, for the first time, and I am kicking myself for not wearing them sooner...

+ Awkward came back on this week. Sure, it's still sitting on my DVR, but it still came back on this week.

+ I have had this song in my head all damn week, and I felt like sharing. Yes, I was born in the 80s, and grew up in the 90s. So, enjoy :)

Personally, I think I had a really good week! The idea is for the good to always outweigh the bad, and to learn from the bad.  How was your week? Write about it, and link it up with one of the fine ladies below :)

Linking up with: Lauren for H54F, Jennie for Friday Favorites, Whitney for #backthatazzup, DarciAprilChristina & Natasha for 5 on Friday, and Allie and Jen for Pit and Peak!

Class of twenty-oh-four

Summer before Senior Year // Senior Picture // Graduation party with my Momma

This year marks ten years since I graduated high school. Woo hoo! Um... no. And the reminder? A Facebook group set up for all of the class of 2004 grads of my high school. Real classy, huh? Yeah, that's what I thought. Just the reminder that I needed of the fact that I'm getting old... At least I still get carded at the bar.

And I'm not even sure if I even want to go. I mean, I'm "friends" with a lot of the people I went to high school with on Facebook, so I pretty much "know" them. I know who has gotten married & divorced, who has had kids and who doesn't, who is living "the life" and who is in the same boat as me, and everything else. It's crazy that I would have need to pay upwards of fifty bucks to go hang out with a bunch of people that I haven't talked to for a reason. Am I right?

Personally I think in the last ten years, I have done good. Sure, I would love that "dream job", but I have gotten married, had a lil guy, have only gained like 50 pounds, and I am less than three weeks from holding a grad degree. Not too shabby.

But, in all honesty, I really haven't changed all that much from high school. Yes, my grammar has improved, but I still question how to spell certain words. I still love the same movies, music (N*sync forever!), and foods. Basically, I am still me, except now I know what a flat iron is, I don't leave the house without mascara, and I dress a hell of a lot better!

Maybe I should go, just to show people my awesomeness? To get drunk with all the "cool people" and then go off on the meanies? I really didn't have any bitchy people that I hated, though going all Romy and Michelle on someone would so make my day, so that wouldn't be a perk.

I don't know what would make me want to go. But maybe I should start looking for a dress and investing in some sunless tanner and spanx. You know, just in case.

Anyone ever gone to their 10 yr reunion? Got any good stories? Horror stories? Hilarious hook ups?

How to survive | a bad haircut

We’ve all done it… seen a cute haircut in a magazine or obsessed over a celebs hair for months, finally bite the bullet and make the hair appointment, only to walk out of the salon with the most hideous head of hair that belongs on Medusa. Yeah, we are all guilty. Sure, you should have been paying attention or maybe taken the stylist’s advice when she said, “um, hunnie, that cut is not for you”, but it happens. But sometimes you are in that “hair daze”, like when everything is going awesome and then you get home, and you’re like, “Uh, what the hell did I just do?” Yep, I’m guilty of that. Like when I decided to get layers cut in, after over 5 years of completely straight, layer free hair.

But, I’m not here to talk about what you should or shouldn’t do at the salon. Rather, I’m here to tell you that I’ve been there, and to give you some pointers on how to survive a bad haircut. Mainly, a bad bang cut.

Privacy issues

When I first started blogging, I never had any intentions of keeping anything, within reason, private. I wanted to share every aspect of my life including my family, which is my heart and soul. So, I did what any parent blogger would do, and started writing posts about my son and his milestones and posting cute lil pictures of him and what not. Basically I incorporated him in almost every aspect of my blog. Without getting too much into detail, I think you get it.
Then, my blog started evolving and I didn't want to be a "mommy blogger", so I continued to post some pictures here and there, but he was still the center of my Friday posts. I mean, I am a stay-at-home mom and all. I can't really just cut my son out of the picture, nor would I want to.

And then I read an article about adding the "no pin" HTML to your pictures and it got me thinking about every picture I had posted. So I decided to hit the "pin it" button and see exactly what people could pin.
Quite simply,  I. was. speechless.
I generally remove the link button to all my personal pictures,  so it's harder for people to steal them, but damn... my son's face was everywhere! I even Googled my blog, and the same thing happened. So I started going back to every post, that had my son in it, and added the html code to the picture.
I waited a week for Google to catch up, since the "no pin" code worked immediately for the "pin it" button, and of course, a few stragglers have gotten through. And don't even get me started on Bing... (every time I take down one, they seem to replace it with another)
Now, I know some bloggers are fine with having their child's face plastered all over the internet, hell, some even intentionally set up blogs and devote them to their child; but I'm not ok with this. I have a choice in the matter, but my son doesn't. Sure, Instagram is way different (unless you use statigram), but your child's face is still out there.
I don't know. I guess it's just me.
Anyways...
I have been going through the past six months of blog posts and deleting any insignificant individual pictures of my son. From now on, the only pictures that anyone will see, are the pictures on Instagram, or if I post pictures on here of him, either me or my husband will be in the pictures with him. Basically, my son will not be the only one in the picture.
I swear if my child's picture ends up on a porn site, I am going to cut someone. Consider yourself warned.

That also brings me to another thing:

Most of you have probably noticed a change in my Instagram name. I apologize for this. If you are wondering where I went, my Instagram name is now: tl_tinywishes. It just works with the brand. :)

Yeah, so that's it for now.

Sometimes a pop of neon is good for the soul {a weekly recap}

The scarf was a gift, but I really think the whole outfit was from Target

This week has been crazy... but has been full of nice weather, flip flops, and no coats! Sure, there has been low points, but why talk about those? I mean do you really want to hear about how my husband had his tooth pulled, and then bled on my white comforter? Or how apparently I am so absent minded that I forgot to pay a credit card payment last month, and now they are blowing up my phone non-stop, and instead of answering the phone, I choose to ignore them, and put my phone on vibrate? Yeah, probably not. So let's talk about the good stuff, huh?

one | Apparently there is a little girl inside of me just waiting to get out... McDonald's has My Little Pony's in their "girl" happy meal's and since we have made a trip to the land of the golden arches like four times this week (yeah... I guess my son and I are addicted to their strawberry shakes), I decided to pick up a couple of the ponies.... And then proceeded to do a happy dance each time, because I finally got a pony. Yeah...

two | My Birchbox came in this week, and I seriously can't wait to share it with y'all!

three | After getting three random days off in a row the other week, my job has been giving me more hours, which is totally awesome! I mean, money is good, and I really didn't want to turn to alternative means of income... (I could name so many things right here, but I'm going to keep this G, and leave it alone... so use your imagination).

four | Graduation is just around the corner, and I received the information packet this week for it. The packet included my tickets for inclement weather, information on Grad-images, and other stuff. I have worked so hard and I am so psyched for this!!

five | I made it another week without biting my nails and I lost 3 lbs. Yay! It's the little things right?

six | Apparently I am either praising the weather gods or wishing for summer, cause I decided that I am in love with neon. Yeah, this is a first.

seven | I heard a new song on the radio and I loved it...

So overall, it has been a pretty good week, and I am linking up with: Lauren for H54F, Jennie for Friday Favorites, Whitney for #backthatazzup, and Darci, April, Christina & Natasha for 5 on Friday.

WIWW | Mustard & Navy

I never used to be a fan of mustard. I mean, even the word kinda still disgusts me. Maybe I would rather call it gold? Nah...

Anyways, I bought a mustard cardigan at Target last year with the hopes of wearing it. Truth be told, I really have no idea why I even bought it. I think I may have been in one of those "Pinterest dazes". You know that thing you are in when you see an outfit that you love on Pinterest, and realize that you are only missing one piece, so you go out and buy it. Then realize that you just don't have a need or a want to actually wear the outfit. Yeah, a "Pinterest daze".

Through blogging, I have come to open up my closet and experiment with different colors and patterns, and today's outfit is no different. Since I had the navy statement necklace, I decided to take the mustard cardigan out for a spin. Usually I would wear a navy tank under the sheer shirt, but in order to make the necklace and cardigan pop, I decided to go with white.

Necklace | Wal-mart
Cardigan | Target
Navy Shirt | Maurices
White Tank | Maurices
Jeans | Maurices
Shoes | Payless

I think that the whole outfit actually meshed well together. I liked the contrast with the two colors, and I am kicking myself for not wearing the cardigan sooner.

Linking up with:  The Pleated Poppy for WIWW, Shanna for Random Wednesday and The Fitness Blondie for the Hump Day Blog Hop.

Today I also have something really fun for you...

I have said many times that I love my readers, and truthfully, I absolutely do! I love being able to promote my friends blogs, and if I see something "Pinteresting," I will definitely pin that shiz! Anyways, I wanted to introduce you guys to a reader that I have come to love and interact with on a daily basis. She recently contacted me to do an interview, and I felt that I wanted to do a spotlight on her also! I mean, why not! My readers are flippin' awesome and everyone always likes reading new blogs, right?

So with out further adieu, let me introduce you to Ashley from Mrs. Mama!

1. Normal first question and ice breaker: Why did you start your blog, and how did you come up with its name?
In the middle of my pregnancy I started doing lots of research about pregnancy. I never knew much about blogs before I started my research. I became slightly obsessed with reading about other people’s lives. Then I started thinking I could do this. I’ve always been someone who wrote and kept scrapbooks so this was like a combination of the two. I got married and pregnant at the age of 30. I went from living a life where everything was about me having a life of fun to where I was suddenly I was a typical wife and mother. I felt like I had zero idea what I was doing. I wanted to chronicle my journey of becoming the best wife and mother I could be and from that Mrs. (marriage) Mama (motherhood) was born.

2. Do your real life friends/ family know about your blog? If not, why?
All of my friends and family know about my blog. The only people who don’t know are my co-workers. I guess there isn’t a real reason they don’t know. I don’t think I would be comfortable with them knowing me on that type of level. Just knowing that my friends and family know about my blog already hinders me on some level. My mom knows about my blog but she doesn’t even read it which is fine by me. One of my friends reads it every single day. She’ll call me and discuss my posts. I don’t share my posts on Facebook because I don’t want to open it up to everyone I know.

3. What is your must have beauty, style & jewelry item?
I have to have eyeliner. It makes all the difference. Right now I am also obsessed with painting my fingernails. I’m loving Sally Hansen Triple Shine nail polish right now. When doing my hair I always finish it up with John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease. It smoothes flyaways and leaves a beautiful shine. I use to wear signature pieces but now my style is more simple. I love a plain silver necklace with a simple pendant. Right now I am loving my initial necklace from Waxing Poetic.

4. What’s your favorite quote?
Be the change you want to see in the world.

5. What is your favorite thing about being a mom?
My most favorite thing about being a mom is experiencing the world again through his eyes.

6. Did you go to college? What for? Are you working in that field now?
Yes I did. I got my bachelor's degree in history. I taught high school for a few years and then while I was doing that I went back to school and got my masters degree in library media information systems aka so I can be a librarian. I am now an elementary librarian at a K-5 school.

7. What is your biggest mistake?
Oh wow. Let me think. I guess I would have to have goofing off my second year of college and losing most of my scholarships. That year my best friend and I lived together. We rarely went to class but we had so much fun. If I hadn’t have goofed off that year I would have so many school loans to repay.

8. You say that you spent your 20s having fun and enjoying life, what is your favorite memory from that time period?
This one is way too hard. We had so much fun. We lived spur of the moment. We would get an idea at midnight to go somewhere and then pack up and leave. Yes, we worked, but it was just waitress and cashier jobs, so calling in wasn’t a big deal. If I had to pick a favorite time, I am going to have to go with a weekend my friend Betsy and I spent in Heber Springs. It was Spring Break and we were going with no plan. We met these random people and had the most fun. Some crazy stuff happened. Lots of drinks were had. To this day when we talk about it we end up not being able to breath from laughing.

9. Name one material item that you can’t live without.
I can easily say my phone since it is always attached to me and it has everything I need to manage my life. I can do anything from my phone.

10. How do you unwind after a hard day?
Now this is an easy question. Drink pink moscato, read blogs, and sit in my recliner in my pajamas.

I told you that she was awesome, right? Yeah, so go say hi, and tell her I sent you! :)
