Um... so hey!

It's no secret that my last post was just over 2 years ago, and believe me there are so many reasons for that; but the main one- LIFE got in the way. Well, life and my mental health. I'll get to all that in a bit, so go ahead and grab yourself a glass of wine and here we go....

To delete or not to delete: the journey

To be honest, after not posting in over 2 years, I was seriously just ready to scrap this little place, but then I realized that I have so much history here. My VERY FIRST post was September 20, 2013 and it detailed a few of my favorite make up products. It was crazy to believe that I had actually been posting for 8 years. Eight fucking years! Holy shitake mushrooms!!! And in those 8 years, I have talked about beauty, parenting, mental health, social media, college/grad school, travel, blogging, and so much more. I feel like I have given this little corner of the internet a piece of my soul. I have also learned so much, made "internet friends", made some money, gotten free products, gone places that I wouldn't even have thought about for "press tours", and it has honestly been a fun filled crazy ride. AND I was ready to let all of that go.

But alas, I couldn't. So I decided to pull up my big girl panties, and start writing for me. Not for views, not for money, not to sell shit, but for me.

So where the hell have I been?

To be perfectly clear, I have been around.

  • After my last post, we finally bought a house and moved in (Nov 2019)!!! I was so happy, and I still am.
  • COVID hit (March 2020) and fucked my whole world up. I was on unemployment for the longest time, but then I finally found a different job, and things started looking up.
  • My mental health took a nose dive.
  • I finally finished my SECOND master's degree in July 2020. I would love to go back to school for my PhD, but I don't see that coming yet.
  • I turned 35 in December 2020, and barely escaped 2020 without a total break down.
  • I dyed my hair purple in December 2020.
  • I made it through 2020 without getting COVID, but then in April 2021. guess who tested POSITIVE? Yep, this girl. Oh yeah, it was 6 weeks AFTER I had completed my 2nd does of the "vaccine". Thanks China.
  • I finally got my tubes tied in June 2021.
  • I started a full time, 40 hours a week job in Aug 2021.
  • And now, I'm about to turn 36. Dun... dun... dun.
So I'm guessing you noticed that I mentioned that my mental health took a nose dive in early 2020... yeah... I am thankful that I am still here and I did not need to be hospitalized (it was a possibility for a minute there). I am going to talk about what happened very soon, but I am still piecing together my thoughts.

So that's it for now. I just wanted to say that I am back, and I am going to continue on writing here. :)

Talk soon!
AND I missed you all!
