Radha Beauty skin care review

Disclaimer: compensation for this review was in the form of the eye gel and accompanying products  via Brandbacker & Radha Beauty, but opinions are all mine.

I have a confession.... my ultimate beauty goal is to not only look, but to feel good and beautiful in my own skin, without having to apply makeup. I know my goal is attainable, as I have met it in the past month, but I would like to feel comfortable enough to go out in public without having to apply a lick of makeup (to me, mascara is considered a lifestyle, not makeup). I am almost to that point, thanks to Radha Beauty and their amazing line of face products.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Radha Beauty, it was started in 2014, and features a 100% pure & natural oil and skincare line. They combine high performance with natural and healthy ingredients and partner with earth-loving, women-empowering organizations, and use Eco-friendly packaging, Their products are Cruelty Free and Not Tested on Animals. They are also free of the harsh chemicals used in most beauty products.

Radha Beauty gave me the chance to try out their Beauty Intensive Eye Gel, Vitamin C Serum, & the Retinol Moisturizer

-----THE PRODUCTS-----

I have issues with puffiness (due to too much salt intake) and dark circles (due to not getting enough sleep) under my eyes, and I have tried several products to help with it. I have even resorted to using a cc cream in the eye area. Most products have reduced/camouflaged my issues, but never completely erased, and the issues also came back with non-use.

Radha Beauty first sent me the eye gel. It claimed to moisturize and firm, and reduce eye bags, dark circles, and puffiness. The ingredients also included cucumber, aloe, vitamin e, and much more. To say I had high expectations for this gel, was an understatement.

I started using the gel the day after I received it, and was surprised. The gel felt cool to the touch and seemed to reduce my puffiness almost immediately, especially above my eye lid. Sure the result could have been due to the lighting, but it was the first time a product, bad lighting or not, had done that for me. The texture was really nice and light, and it glided on with ease. And dried with in a few seconds with no residue.

Vitamin C Serum
I am a huge fan of serums, and I have tried quite a few. When Radha Beauty gave me the chance to try out their Vitamin C serum, I was skeptipal to say the least. I had tried a couple of Vitamin C serums, and since my skin is sensitive, I had started to break out from them. And I could barely stand the strong citrusy smell.

The vitamin c serum was integrated into my beauty routine the day after receiving it (like 3 weeks ago) and I am still using it to this day. The texture is a bit watery, but it spread easily and dried quickly. AND the smell is subtle, almost non-existent, and does not have any scent of citrus. It did not irritate my skin, and my skin felt and looked bright and radiant after using.

I am at the age where I am starting to care more and more about my skin and wrinkles that may form in the future. I had tried a couple of Retinol moisturizers in the past, and let me just say that I had almost given up on my relationship with Retinol.

When I tried Radha's Retinol moisturizer, I was amazed. My sensitive skin reacted rather well and I felt no burning NOR did I break out. The formula was a bit greasy, but absorbed quite well.

-----HOW TO USE-----

At first, I was using all three products in conjunction with each other. In the morning, I would wash my face, apply the serum, then the eye gel, and follow up with the Retinol moiturizer. At night, I would remove my makeup, and apply the eye gel.

After a couple of days, it almost felt like my eye makeup would, essentially, flake off during the day, and I wondered if it was due to the use of the eye gel. So I reduced my application to just at night. And I was happy that I did. I use more of the eye gel at night, and wake up with beautiful puff-free eye areas.

I still use the serum after washing my face, and the apply the moisturizer. At first, my face feels a bit greasy, but after a few minutes, I am ready to put on my makeup, rather it be actually foundation or a bb/cc cream. It also seems to work really well with my primer.

-----THOUGHTS-----

I am really grateful that Radha Beauty gave me a chance to try their skincare line, and recommend it to anyone who wants to "upgrade" their current line. All three products work rather well in conjunction with each other, and the result is beautiful!

If you want to try out the skin care line, you can grab all three products from Amazon. And they have a money back guarantee.

high five for friday

I swear... winter in Northwest Indiana surly does suck! This week it alternated between being a snow & icy winter tundra, and mini-warm ups (when the normal temp is like 15, and the sun decides to come out to play and warm it up to about 30, then you break out the capris). But the weather didn't get me down that much, and I actually had a pretty good week :)

one // Taxes came back early last week, so this week I have been paying off some bills that were put on the back burner while the hubby was off work. I am proud to say that we are finally caught up, and my second credit card will be pair off by the middle of next week.

two // We celebrated the hubby's birthday on Sunday with a trip to the mall and dinner at Longhorn Steak House. #beststeakdinnerever

three // I found a pretty awesome pair of Silver Jeans on sale at my favorite store... Maurices if you don't know, and I seriously love them!

four // I have been a member of the buy, sell, & trade groups on Facebook for awhile now, and I finally made my first sale! It actually made me feel pretty awesome.

five // Lil Man has been telling me for about a month now that he needs a hair cut, so I decided to take him Thursday (I would have taken him earlier, but he was fighting a fever and cold). I think he looks quite handsome!

six // This lil space of mine hit 600 followers on Bloglovin this week! Holy F'in cow! I am so happy and can't thank y'all enough!!!

seven // I have been looking at some blogs, and I have been thinking of a design change... I really like the photography setups like on September Farm, Don't Quote the Raven, Hey Kerri Blog, and others...

eight // I love reading blogs and I read some great ones this week...

I seriously love this post by Kerri... mostly because I have gone through the same type of stuff lately. Go read it, and leave Kerri some encouragement!

I love a good confession post, especially if I am laughing from mid-sentence.

Why I'll continue to sponsor your blog // Bourbon, Lipstick, and Stilettos
I love sponsoring other blogs, but since I am spending my hard-earned (well, the hubby's hard earned) money, I love to read how other people's sponsorships went. And I love how Lindsay breaks it down :)

Valentia Vitamin C Serum review

Disclaimer: compensation for this review was in the form of the Even Glow Serum via Brandbacker & Valentia Skin Care, but opinions are all mine.

I know I have said it before, but I have a "thing" for serums. Especially serums that can improve my skin tone and in turn, will hydrate my skin. So when Brandbacker and Valentia Skin Care gave me a chance to try out Valentia's Even Glow Serum, I was super excited.

The bottle arrived a couple days after I had run out of my favorite serum, and of course, I couldn't wait to try it. Plus after reading all of the other reviews on Amazon, I had HIGH hopes.

I tried it out the next morning after washing my face. Opening the bottle, I realized that the serum had a strong citrus smell. Granted I wasn't surprised, since the serum contained 20% Vitamin C, but the smell did throw me off a little bit. Especially since the smell really didn't dissipate when I smoothed it over my face.

The serum was in a thicker liquid form, and once I got over the smell, I really liked the feel of it. It made my skin feel a but smoother, and did brighten my dull skin. I really liked the fact that the serum is made in the US with 98% all natural ingredients and features green tea extract (great for calming red & inflamed skin).

Overall, I really did like Valentia's Even Glow serum, and recommend it to anyone looking for a new serum. Especially one that has Vitamin C.

If you would like to try out Valentia Skin Care's Vitamin C serum for face for yourself, you can grab it from Amazon, or the actual Valentia Skin Care site.

Have you ever tried Valentia's Even Glow?

Is there anything we can do differently or better? Please share in the comments!
... onto the winner!
Hello everyone! This is Tiffany. Wow- there were so many great posts. This week I picked a blog post that resonated with my current needs. I have been trying to carve out a little time every week just for myself. As a mom, it can be really hard to make myself a priority at times. I will wait to pluck my eyebrows until they are fully grown out, or I might make excuses why I don't have time to go on a run. The truth is, it is good for me and my family to take care of myself. A morning run or a hot bath can go a long way!
I loved this post because it is a very simple concept to practice self care, but for many of us it is a really challenging habit to implement. I think it is really important.
Check out Sheryl's blog, How to make a life. You will love it!
Keep posting awesome content! You make it so fun for us to read all your posts! If you can, please link up a specific post. It makes it easier for us to come and visit!

favorite beauty product cheapies | round two

Happy Monday friends! Today is the follow up to my original favorite beauty product cheapies post... and I am sharing six more drugstore products that I love AND use every day.

At one time I used to be a total drugstore product gal, and then I was introduced to Ulta & Sephora. Well, then I became a high end snob. Yeah....

As of the past year, I am trying to integrate many drugstore products back into my normal beauty routine, and it's definitely starting to save me some money.

going left to right-

Let me tell you just how much I dearly LOVE this darn brush... if it was a person, I would attempt to marry it. Yes, it's just that awesome. It's super easy to clean, works for just about everything, and is super cheap.

Thanks to Influenster, Pond's BB was the first actual BB cream that I tried. From first swipe, I loved it. I love the coverage that it gives. And that it doesn't make my skin oily.

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Shine Serum // $4.99
I usually use this for smoothing my flyaways after I use my flat iron. It's cheap, doesn't weight down my hair, and smells great.

Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser // $4.99
Best make-up remover face wash, hands down. I usually use this cleanser in the shower, and love how it cleans my face, and doesn't leave me looking like a raccoon.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes in Nude & Taupe // $3.97
I used to be a big black eyeliner gal- I have a stash of like 10 in my extra makeup case. But with my skin tone, I realized that black started to be super heavy and looked to invest in a more "skin friendly color". After doing some research on Pinterest, I decided to pick up two liners- one in taupe (a lighter brown), and one in nude. They make my eyes pop, are cheap, and easy to remove.

Pixi Eye Zone Brightener // $16
I have a tendency to have some dark circles under my eyes due to stress and lack of sleep. The brightener is a lighter color, and has reflective properties, so it makes my dark circles look less apparent with it's lavender water, Vitamin E, and aloe vera.

Beauty doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg- I mean, over 90% of the items on this list are under $10, and very worth it. I have always been the person to pick and choose which items I want to use, and hardly ever use more than three items from the same product line. But I am happy with what I use.

Have you ever used any of these cheapies?

today is the 22nd... & a very special day

Today is definitely a very special day... it's the hubby's birthday! Eeek!

So in honor of the hubby and the several birthdays we have celebrated, I have decided to dedicate today's post to him, and tell you the top five wonderful things I love about him :)

1. He works hard for the monies.
We live in Northwest Indiana, and about two years ago, the hubby applied and was hired in at a casino almost 2 hours away (actually it's like 1.5 hrs drive time, but still). He makes good money, and we have talked extensively about relocating, but we just don't have the funding. And I'm really not ready to pay IL taxes. So for now, the hubby works 4 days a week, and his typical work day goes like this.... come home from work, go to sleep, get up 4 hours before he has to be at work, get ready to go to work, leave & drive to work, actually work, and drive home to do it all over again. Oh, and he works midnight's- so Lil Man and I see Daddy for a few minutes in the morning, and maybe for about an hour when he's getting ready for work.

2. After seven years together, he still makes me laugh.
Yes, that is a very true statement. He can make me laugh when I'm in a funk or feeling down. Period.

3. He is a good Dad.
Sure, he has his moments, but the hubby is truly a good Dad. He is the type that would spend his last dying breathe to make Lil Man happy, and Lil Man knows that. Daddy builds amazing train tracks that spread around the living room, engineers ramps out of boxes and blankets for the monster trucks, and is the architect of grand Lego buildings. He is always bringing something home for Lil Man, and loves to take him to the tool store, just to look around. They have a really good relationship.

4. He supports me in my endeavors and gives me freedom.
The hubby really doesn't yell at me for wanting to go out on one of his days off, or for spending money (to clarify, I am the one who handles the financials, so if my spending gets us into hot water, then he has plausible deniability). He also supports the fact that I am a blogger, and sometimes I need to spend an hour typing away at the computer. And he will sometimes take my outfit pictures.

5. He loves me.
I won't lie and say that the hubby and I have a perfect relationship, because it is far from it (but nowhere near wanting a divorce), but we love each other and both try to show each other that. He brings me home a Dr. Pepper and says that he was thinking of me, or comes up behind me while I'm doing dishes and gives me a kiss on the cheek, and tells me that I look pretty when I feel like I don't.

Happy Birthday love xoxo

Images of Happy vol. 2

Today is the second volume of my Images of Happy link up! Last time, I had a couple of other people join me, and I was super happy about it. Because, let's be real, I really didn't think anyone was going to join.

Anyways, the Images of Happy link up was born out of a love for photography... I love the idea behind photography, and I love that so much emotion can be captured in one Instagram photo. I wanted to give people a place to share their happy photos with others and show that there are happy things in life. A reminder to just breathe and take in life's little moments.

My images....

A picture take when I met a home-state blogger, who just happens to be a big deal....
(ps. it's Erin from Living in Yellow)

After 5.5 years, the hubby finally has AND wears a wedding band!

This Lil Man really has my heart... and I really don't think any Images of Happy would be complete without one of him...

I love to send snail mail (cards, letters, etc), and it makes me smile ear to ear when the receivers post pictures on social media, and say that their mail made their day...
(ps. if you would like some snail mail- send me an email- ahundredtinywishes@gmail.com)

My best selling glass has been & will always be my love, dream, blog wine glass from the Etsy Shop. I thank blogging and the fact that wine and blogging go hand and hand for this!

Those are my images of happy. And now, I want to see your Images of Happy!

The rules are simple enough that everyone can join me in celebrating the images that make you happy...

The Images of Happy link up rules:
1 // Post as many photos as you want that make you happy. You can post one or post ten- it doesn't matter. As long as it makes you happy, then it's good :) (and you can also post a collage of photos)
2 // Add a small description as to why the photo/photos make you happy.
3 // Either grab the button and add it to your post, or link back so everyone can visit the other linker-uppers.
4 // Visit other participants and leave some genuine heartfelt comments. Not mandatory, but would be much appreciated.
5 // Come back every third Tuesday (Tentatively the dates for the linky with be March 17 [I know it's St. Patty's Day], April 21, and May 19) and share your Images of Happy.

Tweet or Insta using #imagesofhappy and I will be sure to retweet/comment! Also, don't forget to tag me... @tl_tinywishes

a hundred tiny wishes

sunday currently....

I have no idea what has been going on with me lately... I have been feeling really down in the dumps and my headaches have been coming more frequently. It could always be stress, or the cold, or my tooth, but most of the time, I just feel like eh, and really don't feel like doing anything. I don't even want to go into my beloved Target, put on makeup, or blog. It feels like I'm stuck in a rut... and it could be because I am just now finishing up the hubby's first week back to work.

With out sounding like I am complaining, which I am walking that fine gray line right now, I am deciding to give you a currently post, in hopes that it will re-light my fire and help my creative juices flow (plus I really need the flowing, mostly due to my monthly link up coming on Tuesday, and a deadline to submit my guest post quickly approaching).

Dead sea mask & Emu Oil review

My First Vlog

Are you linking up with me on Tuesday for my Images of Happy?

my first vlog....

Happy Valentine's Day friends! If you are attached- I hope it's a good one! And if you are single, I hope you are either spending the day with your gals or with a pint of Ben & Jerry's and Pitch Perfect :)

Today, I spent the morning at work, and then I got to go home to my favorite Lil Man. But, today I also have an extra special treat for you... MY FIRST VLOG!

Now I know I'm not a vlogger- I'm way tooo awkward for that, but I have been wanting to link up with Faith & all the co-hosts for the Golden Vlog link up. If you haven't heard of it, you can read about it on Faith's page, but basically it's a once a month vlog (video blog) link up, with prompts. And Faith provides the prompts.

Like I said, I have been wanting to link up for some times, but I haven't had the time or patience (do you know how long editing a video takes?) to actually sit down and record something that I'm proud of. And even today's video isn't something that I am. Oh well.

Enjoy :)

AND as promised.... ME!

Don't forget to check out the other vlogs!

InstaNatural review | Dead Sea Mud Mask & Emu Oil

Disclaimer: compensation for this review was in the form of the dead sea mud mask via Brandbacker & InstaNatural, but opinions are all mine.

I have a "thing" for masks... meaning that I have several one-time-use packets, and I actually use at least one a week. So when Brandbacker and InstaNatural gave me a chance to try out InstaNatural's Dead Sea Mud Mask, I knew I had to jump on it.

You see, InstaNatural "is a leading online and global distributor of more than a dozen nature inspired beauty and cosmetics products." And their products are one of the top sellers on Amazon, and can be found in a variety of spas and salons. They use natural and organic ingredients- most of their products on on the Leaping Bunny list, meaning they are cruelty free, and they feature a lifetime satisfaction guarantee. To date, I have tried four, now six, of InstaNatural's products, and have loved a majority of them.

When I first received the dead sea mud mask, I couldn't believe how big it was. It's a FULL 16 oz container, and according to the directions, it can be used on the face AND body. Talk about a multi-tasker.

The dead sea mud mask is an all natural detoxifier and purifier that is made using the mud from the dead sea (the body of water in the Mediterranean, which contains many beneficial minerals). It claims to be able to "expunge acne, pimples and blackheads", "to restore an even skin tone for a smoother complexion", and "when used as a body treatment, the mud mask can soothe and relieve muscles aches and pains".

I can't honestly tell you how the body treatment works, but I can tell you that my face actually felt smoother and hydrated after one use. AND it surprised me. - I have used dead sea mud mask's before, but with my sensitive skin, I have always had so sort of reaction- dry skin, itchy skin, red skin, etc, but with InstaNatural's mask, I didn't have any reactions, except for a little bit of tingling on my upper cheek area.

A bonus was that the mask really didn't have a smell, and the consistency was gel-like. It went on rather easy, and washed off without leaving a residue.

I really liked the Dead Sea Mud Mask, and highly recommend it. If you want to buy the mask- it's between $24-25 and you can grab it from InstaNatural or Amazon

------

As part of the Dead Sea Mud Mask promotion, InstaNatural also invited me to use their Emu Oil
Emu Oil comes from Emu's when they are processed for meat, and can provide moisturizing benefits to the skin and hair. It also claims to soothe dry, itchy, flaky skin, reduce the appearance of scars, dark spots, stretch marks, burns and other discoloration, have anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe injuries, such as aching joints, sores muscles and sprains, and rejuvenate and replenish hair.

I used the Emu Oil on my dry hands, face (a couple of days before using the Dead Sea mask), and on the ends of my hair. It didn't have a smell, which was nice. I noticed that a little goes a long way, and it was VERY hydrating to my hands. I don;t use it every day, but I am happy to have it in my beauty arsenal.

Have you ever tried any InstaNatural products?

introducing my dad {and a blog hop}

I know you guys have heard me refer to myself as a child of divorce and remarriage on several occasions,  but I can guarantee that you have never heard me actually elaborate on the subject. Why?  Because it's difficult.  Maybe one day I will actually elaborate, instead of just hinting and beating around the bush, but today isn't the day.

Today is the day that I get to introduce you to my mom's husband. .. the man I call Dad.

Most people have the story that their step-dad came onto their lives at an early age and things just fell into place. Not us..

Chuck came into my life shortly before my parents divorced and couple months before my 18th birthday. He made my mom smile again. And for that I was grateful. He accepted me and my brother into his loving arms, and never forced his presence on us. He would always tell us "I'm not here to replace your dad, but I would like to be your friend."

My mom and Chuck met and dated when they were both in high school, but circumstances led to a breakup and then reunification some years later. After both had been married & divorced, each with two kids.

Seeing my mom with Chuck, made me happy. She had been unhappy for sometime, which led to her divorce, and Chuck made her act like a kid again. Literally, she was so GIDDY ALL OF THE TIME,  and it made me nauseous.

Over the years, Chuck and I definitely had our differences. And after they married in 2007, it sorta worsened. Partly because I had my own issues and turned 21. But in the end, everything evened out.

He was the one who my hubby asked for my hand in marriage, the one who walked me down the aisle,  the one who I had my father/daughter dance with at the wedding, the one who was at the hospital with my mom when Lil Man came into the world, the one who loves my son as his blood, and the one who I call Dad.

And he is the one who is turning 50 TODAY.

So if he is ever reading this... I want to say happy birthday old man. I love you.  Love, me.

Dear Friends,
What a day to celebrate! This is the 103rd week of the Let's Be Friends blog hop! Thanks for joining us on this special day. Chelsee and Tiffany are extremely delighted to see the way this hop has grown and love to see your faces each week!
Join us every Tuesday at 7am (MST). This blog hop focuses on content. LINK UP YOUR FAVORITE POST from last week in this fun content-sharing blog hop! I love the idea of blog hopping, but I love the idea of reading posts and quality content on new blogs I've never been to even more. Instead of simply linking up your blog button, you are now able to link up your favorite post you recently wrote. Have a delicious recipe to share, DIY tutorial, or heartfelt post? Share it with us! All hosts and co-hosts put up some unique and fun content from the past week. Make sure to check them out. P.S.- you may still link up your blog button and blog name, but it is encouraged to link up your favorite post instead. You will get more page views and interest if you do so! Some of the most successful blog hops I have participate in focus on content rather than just exchanging follows. You never know who will become a loyal follower or pin that delicious new recipe you posted!
The BEST part of this blog hop? Each week there will be a WINNER! That's right, each week we will choose one lucky blog to feature from the previous week's hop. This hop receives thousands of page views every week, so your blog will have the chance to be center stage for free. You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win. Only those who link up a specific post are eligible to be featured! *You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win.
The last exciting change is that the co-host spots will now be available to all sponsors of The Dwelling Tree or Southern Beauty Guide. If you are interested in co-hosting the blog hop, email Tiffany or Chelsee about sponsorship opportunities and how to co-host the weekly hop!
There are a couple of great giveaways going on right now at Southern Beauty Guide and The Dwelling Tree. Go check them out! :)
