links and loves

I really can't believe that tomorrow is Halloween... which means that after tomorrow, October is officially over. Honestly, it's just hard for me to imagine that a) in exactly 33 days, I will be 31, b) 10 months of this year have already flown by, and c) tomorrow is Halloween (yeah, I know I already said that!). But instead of starting to reminisce about the month, let's talk about some things that I have been loving lately, huh?

cold weather beauty essentials

It's no joke that cooler weather is on it's way, especially since the temps have dropped here in the Midwest. I mean, I am one of those people that hate cooler weather, mostly because of how harsh the weather can get. In the past few years, I have finally figured out my holy grail cold weather beauty essentials, and I am finally ready to share them!

Put a bullet in world hunger with Half United

Throughout the past few weeks, I have been researching lesser known companies that give back with the proceeds from the items that they sell. I, like many other individuals, love to see that my quality purchases can help people and in return that makes me feel good. Through my research I came across a company with a mission that I could really stand behind... HALF UNITED

4 things to do for your blog RIGHT NOW

I know what you are thinking... you think that I am going to tell you that if you are on Blogger that you need to jump ship to Wordpress right now. Sadly, no. And honestly, I would be a hypocrite if I told you that. Sure it should eventually be a goal, or end goal, but I am not here to talk about that currently. Today I want to talk about the four things that you should do to your blog to provide a better experience for your readers.

five must have Fall nail colors

If you haven't guessed it by now, Fall is my favorite season. It's also my all time favorite season for all things beauty. I love the vampy lips, smoked out eyes, and especially the nail polishes. From an everyday gorgeous nude to a classic red, the season is full of beautiful fall nail colors, and to celebrate my one week of being a past nail bitter, I wanted to share my five must have fall nail colors, and trust me, you will love them!

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago Review

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago is considered the Ultimate Indoor LEGO playground. The whole building features life size objects made out of LEGO bricks, many build areas, two rides, a 4D cinema, and so much more. The attraction is designed specifically for 3-10 year olds to enjoy, and everything is kid sized; adults must be accompanied by a child (except at our adult only evening events).

Lil Man has been getting into LEGO Bricks lately, and being a lover of LEGO bricks myself, the hubby and I thought it would be a really cool experience if we surprised Lil Man with a trip to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago for his birthday.  Turns out I was right :)

five Fall TV shows to DVR now

We are finally in the swing of Fall and along with pumpkins, plaid, boots, and leaves, my most favorite thing is new Fall TV. With so many returning shows like Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, Chicago Fire, and Blindspot, it's pretty nice to throw in some new binge worthy shows. Prime time Fall TV is amazing this year- there are shows that will make you laugh, make you cry, and even make you think. Today I've rounded up five of my favorite new shows, and honestly, if you take it from me- you should be watching them now (or you know, DVR and watch later)!

my secret weapon for leftovers

Sometimes being a mom is hard... especially when you don't have a dishwasher. Oh, wait, I do- it's me. Yeah, I really hate doing dishes, so when I cook, I dread having leftovers. I hate that my plastic bowls have to be used and then they just sit in the fridge for a bit, until someone gets hungry or what food they have in them needs to be disposed of.

When Lil Man's birthday started nearing, I knew I was going to have leftovers, and I needed to grab something at the store for people to take stuff home in. I tend to overcook, and as much as I wanted to believe it, I did not want to start handing out my good reusable plastic dishes; or have them piling up in my fridge... and then have to wash them a week later.  When I was at Walmart a few days before the party, looking for an alternative to sending things home in plastic, it felt like the stars aligned and I finally found a secret weapon
