disappointing beauty products

every now and then i will pick up a beauty product, in the hope that i will absolutely love it. sometimes that just doesn't happen.

one | redken pillow proof blow dry express primer
i love redken products. i mean, i only use their shampoo and conditioner. i have seen this product advertised nearly everywhere. it had claimed to speed up blow dry time, thus reducing heat damage and what not, so i figured why not. honestly, it did nothing for me. it made my roots sticky, but blow dry time was still the same. basically, if you are looking for a product to speed up your blow dry time, i would recommend healthy sexy hair soy renewal nourishing styling treatment.

two | redken pillow proof blow dry two day extender (dry shampoo)
i have a thing for dry shampoo, and since this was the "second step" for the express primer, i also grabbed it. yeah, i wasn't happy. i didn't like the smell, and i didn't like the way that it made my hair feel.

three | covergirl bombshell mascara
i am always on the hunt for a less expensive mascara. currently i use benefits badgal lash, so you can imagine the price. i decided to pick up bombshell, because everyone on pinterest and in magazines had been raving about it, and honestly covergirl is a great brand. quite simply, i was not impressed. i didn't like the brushes.

four | benefit big easy
everyone knows that i love benefit products and i seriously do. with that said, i had been waiting for-ever for benefit to come out with a bb cream, and when they finally did, i literally ran to sephora for a sample. sadly to say, i was not impressed. maybe i didn't use a dark enough color, but it didn't cover any of my imperfections. sure, it's not a cc cream, but it needs to cover something. i could go on, but i won't, so i will just say this: maybe it will be great for you, but for me, it was disappointing.

five | maybelline pore eraser
primers are amazing, and there are so many on the market. so taking yet another recommendation from pinterest and magazines, i decided to pick this up. simply, it did everything other primers do, and nothing more. so saying that i was disappointed may be an overstatement. it was just "eh".

have you ever bought a product that you didn't like?

  2. I use the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo (http://www.suave.com/product/detail/662715/keratin-infusion-dry-shampoo) every day. I used it to add a little texture to my hair before I style it. I also use it on days that I'm in a hurry and don't have times to wash my hair (it's long so washing and having to blowdry ads an extra 30 minutes to my get ready time lol} and it doesn't make my dark hair look gray. Plus I think it smells pretty awesome :-)
