It's no secret that at birth I was blessed with fine hair- I've talked about it a lot. But the secret is this: my hair is also lifeless! I am always on the hunt for products to aid in the volume department, but nothing has given me that big, luscious, Texas hair. One of my FAVORITE hair care lines- HASK- just released a new collection, and I honestly think that it may be my answer... or at least help a bit :)
This past summer, HASK released their new Biotin Boost Thickening Collection, which features a triple threat of ingredients sure to give fine, lifeless strands the lift they need. With biotin for volume, collagen to fortify, and coffee to help boost strands, this plumping trio claims to enhance the appearance of thicker hair without leaving it feeling heavy.
For those of you who don't know what HASK is or have never heard of the brand, HASK is a cruelty-free hair care brand, all of their products are made in the USA, and are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten and artificial colors. With HASK, you get more bang for your buck. I have tried my fair share of HASK hair products before, so I had very high hopes for their new collection!
What is is:
The Biotin Boost Thickening Collection includes a shampoo, conditioner, and thickening cream. The shampoo works on three levels to help deliver volume, the conditioner gently detangles to leave hair feeling soft and manageable, and the thickening cream plumps the strands to enhance the appearance of thicker hair.
As I said before, the three main ingredients help to thicken hair in three ways:
- BIOTIN: helps strengthen, volumize and thicken to maintain hair health.
- COFFEE: stimulates the hair follicles helping to boost strands.
- COLLAGEN: helps strengthen and fortify the hair shaft to protect from damage and breakage.
How does it smell?
When I look for hair care products, smell is ALWAYS a top priority for me. The Biotin Boost collection has three main ingredients: Biotin, Collagen, and Coffee; and it smells like coffee. My favorite product is the thickening cream. It was very lightweight, non-greasy, and made my hair smell so wonderful!
Overall thoughts:
I used the collection for a few days straight and could definitely tell a difference in my hair texture. When it was wet, I did not notice any fullness, but once I added in the thickening cream and blow dried my hair, it genuinely felt thicker. Especially when I put it up in a bun.
I would recommend the collection to anyone that has fine, lifeless hair, like me. It's rather inexpensive, and the collection itself is exclusive to Ulta.
