AND... I'm back

In the words of Usher, " It feels so good to be back!"

My last post was published on May 31... #sadface and the reason: a new full time job! What! What!

I have been talking about needing a full time job for as long as I can remember and now, it is finally a reality! I am currently training to be an RBT- Registered Behavioral Tech- which will provide ABA therapy to children with Autism. Monday was my three weeks and I LOVE it. Even though I am training right now, I have been able to work with children and they are so super sweet. I feel like I am making a difference.

The main reason for my absence was the new job and the fact that until Tuesday (yesterday) I was driving an hour and 15 minutes to work everyday... ugh. Yesterday I was finally moved to my home clinic, which makes my drive less than 30 minutes. So now that my schedule is normal, I can get back to focusing on my family and blogging- even though I still have to study to take my exam for my RBT.

Other things that have been going on...

We moved
In the middle of May, I mentioned that we were moving and we finally did the weekend before I started my new job. For those that are wondering, we (me, the hubby, Lil Man, Ellie, and the tortoise) moved into my parents' basement. The main reason was a very personal reason that I really don't want to get into, but the second and third reasons were to save money and convenience. We plan on getting a house by this time next year, so with the new job, there isn't a reason why we won't be able to. Also, my parents are watching Lil Man when I work, so it's just easier to get him up and take him upstairs.

We said goodbye to our kitty
Our 14 year old kitty had been vomiting more than usual for the past few months and with our money situation, we haven't had the money to get any type of testing done. The hubby made the decision and we let him go peacefully at the vet. He took his last breath in my arms. Then we buried him right next to Duce in my parents' back yard. I miss him.

Lastly, I got a duck... and a chicken
So, my step-brother moved out of my parents' house before we moved in, and I inadvertently got a duck. Then they were getting rid of their chickens and long story short, I ended up with a chicken. No, I am not going to eat either. The duck is a mallard and the chicken is a Barred Rock (I believe).

So that's what's been up lately. I am excited to start blogging again, especially since I have some posts planned. I am just happy that this mini-break happened in the Summer (I will tell you why next week!).

How have things been going in your neck of the woods?
