WIWW | Mustard & Navy

I never used to be a fan of mustard. I mean, even the word kinda still disgusts me. Maybe I would rather call it gold? Nah...

Anyways, I bought a mustard cardigan at Target last year with the hopes of wearing it. Truth be told, I really have no idea why I even bought it. I think I may have been in one of those "Pinterest dazes". You know that thing you are in when you see an outfit that you love on Pinterest, and realize that you are only missing one piece, so you go out and buy it. Then realize that you just don't have a need or a want to actually wear the outfit. Yeah, a "Pinterest daze".

Through blogging, I have come to open up my closet and experiment with different colors and patterns, and today's outfit is no different. Since I had the navy statement necklace, I decided to take the mustard cardigan out for a spin. Usually I would wear a navy tank under the sheer shirt, but in order to make the necklace and cardigan pop, I decided to go with white.

Necklace | Wal-mart
Cardigan | Target
Navy Shirt | Maurices
White Tank | Maurices
Jeans | Maurices
Shoes | Payless

I think that the whole outfit actually meshed well together. I liked the contrast with the two colors, and I am kicking myself for not wearing the cardigan sooner.

Today I also have something really fun for you...

I have said many times that I love my readers, and truthfully, I absolutely do! I love being able to promote my friends blogs, and if I see something "Pinteresting," I will definitely pin that shiz! Anyways, I wanted to introduce you guys to a reader that I have come to love and interact with on a daily basis. She recently contacted me to do an interview, and I felt that I wanted to do a spotlight on her also! I mean, why not! My readers are flippin' awesome and everyone always likes reading new blogs, right?

So with out further adieu, let me introduce you to Ashley from Mrs. Mama!

1. Normal first question and ice breaker: Why did you start your blog, and how did you come up with its name?
In the middle of my pregnancy I started doing lots of research about pregnancy. I never knew much about blogs before I started my research. I became slightly obsessed with reading about other people’s lives. Then I started thinking I could do this. I’ve always been someone who wrote and kept scrapbooks so this was like a combination of the two. I got married and pregnant at the age of 30. I went from living a life where everything was about me having a life of fun to where I was suddenly I was a typical wife and mother. I felt like I had zero idea what I was doing. I wanted to chronicle my journey of becoming the best wife and mother I could be and from that Mrs. (marriage) Mama (motherhood) was born.

2. Do your real life friends/ family know about your blog? If not, why?
All of my friends and family know about my blog. The only people who don’t know are my co-workers. I guess there isn’t a real reason they don’t know. I don’t think I would be comfortable with them knowing me on that type of level. Just knowing that my friends and family know about my blog already hinders me on some level. My mom knows about my blog but she doesn’t even read it which is fine by me. One of my friends reads it every single day. She’ll call me and discuss my posts. I don’t share my posts on Facebook because I don’t want to open it up to everyone I know.

3. What is your must have beauty, style & jewelry item?
I have to have eyeliner. It makes all the difference. Right now I am also obsessed with painting my fingernails. I’m loving Sally Hansen Triple Shine nail polish right now. When doing my hair I always finish it up with John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease. It smoothes flyaways and leaves a beautiful shine. I use to wear signature pieces but now my style is more simple. I love a plain silver necklace with a simple pendant. Right now I am loving my initial necklace from Waxing Poetic.

4. What’s your favorite quote?
Be the change you want to see in the world.

5. What is your favorite thing about being a mom?
My most favorite thing about being a mom is experiencing the world again through his eyes.

6. Did you go to college? What for? Are you working in that field now?
Yes I did. I got my bachelor's degree in history. I taught high school for a few years and then while I was doing that I went back to school and got my masters degree in library media information systems aka so I can be a librarian. I am now an elementary librarian at a K-5 school.

7. What is your biggest mistake?
Oh wow. Let me think. I guess I would have to have goofing off my second year of college and losing most of my scholarships. That year my best friend and I lived together. We rarely went to class but we had so much fun. If I hadn’t have goofed off that year I would have so many school loans to repay.

8. You say that you spent your 20s having fun and enjoying life, what is your favorite memory from that time period?
This one is way too hard. We had so much fun. We lived spur of the moment. We would get an idea at midnight to go somewhere and then pack up and leave. Yes, we worked, but it was just waitress and cashier jobs, so calling in wasn’t a big deal. If I had to pick a favorite time, I am going to have to go with a weekend my friend Betsy and I spent in Heber Springs. It was Spring Break and we were going with no plan. We met these random people and had the most fun. Some crazy stuff happened. Lots of drinks were had. To this day when we talk about it we end up not being able to breath from laughing.

9. Name one material item that you can’t live without.
I can easily say my phone since it is always attached to me and it has everything I need to manage my life. I can do anything from my phone.

10. How do you unwind after a hard day?
Now this is an easy question. Drink pink moscato, read blogs, and sit in my recliner in my pajamas.

I told you that she was awesome, right? Yeah, so go say hi, and tell her I sent you! :)

  1. Okay maybe I need to bust out the mustard shirt I bought and now never wear. I really need to work on experimenting with different colors and patterns. I have got to get out of my black/white/gray rut.
