Dear Mom... thank you

Dear Mom,

I want to thank you. I want to thank you for everything that you have shown, given, and taught me the last thirty-one years.

I want to thank you for being there for me every step of the way. I know that in my teen years, I was sort of a spoiled brat (to put it nicely) and then it carried on into my 20s, but you were always there for me; even if I wanted you to be or not. You were, and still are, my biggest cheerleader. You attempted to show me that no matter what life throws in your way, that you must keep pushing on and have faith in everything you do. It really never sunk it until this past year.

I want to thank you for your love and support, because let's be honest for a moment, I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for you. Sure there was some twists and turns, but you were always in my corner, and I believe now we have the relationship that you had always hoped for. Thank you for always being my crying shoulder and someone that I could vent to. Thank you for the advice (even though sometimes I didn't take it).

Thank you for teaching me how to be kind. You are one of the most caring and giving people that I know. Sure, you have your quirks, but who doesn't? You would give the shirt off your back and your last dime for anyone that you love and that speaks volume in my book.

Mom, I promise you, you raised us kids up right. You taught us to be caring, self sufficient adults. You taught us to hold our tongues and to have manners. You taught us how to love. You should be proud of that, mom.

Lastly, thank you mom for teaching me how to be a mom. Thank you for all of your help when I was freaking out. Thank you for taking Lil Man and letting me get some "me time". Thank you for understanding when I would call and ask you to watch him. Thank you for saying yes, with no questions asked. You are such a great Granna to him. He loves you and I could have never asked for anyone better.

Thank you a million times over.
I love you.
Happy Mother's Day.
