Friday Five | Five Favorites

Can anyone else not believe that it's actually November, and that today is THE FIRST FRIDAY? It's crazy! And another thing that's crazy? This week! This week has definitely been one for the record books. So much has gone on from a nice little fun holiday, a family outing, and a huge win for Chicago! So with out further adieu... a little Friday five roundup :)

1. Favorite Outing | Halloween Festivities
On Sunday we went to a local train museum and rode their Halloween themed ride. It was really fun, and Lil Man loved it. The day, which was Halloween, really surprised me this year. It was the first year that Lil Man was able to go up to the doors by himself (with the hubby and I watching him), and I was so proud of him for saying "trick or treat" and "thank you"!

2. Favorite Moment | Chicago Cubs make history
Wednesday night was a rather long night- and I think most of my nails are gone, but it was all for a good reason. In case you haven't heard, after 108 years, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, it may be hard to believe, but I have to say- this season was their best yet. BUT the amazing thing- they were down 3-2 in the series, and came back to win 3, and take all the glory in a crazy five hour long, 10 inning game 7. They were the ultimate comeback kids.

Here's a clip of them winning game 5 on Sunday...

And this is when they won it all...

3. Favorite Product | Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel
Last week I shared this amazing cleanser on Instagram, and I finally have my review ready to go for next week. Spoiler alert: I love this stuff. It smells amazing, and takes off ALL of my makeup!

Don't let the title put you off- I swear to you that it's a really good article. The article stems from a comment that Trump made- that he plans to stack the Supreme Court with Pro-Lifers and reverse the Roe vs. Wade decision. In response to his claim, two doctors talk about how it was to preform abortions before the landmark case made the procedure legal. They describe the horrors that women went through just because they did not want to be pregnant, and the unnecessary sickness and death that followed. And they talk about how the death toll plummeted once abortion was legal.

When reading, I sympathized with the women- they made a mistake, and didn't want it to follow them for the rest of their lives- we have all be there to an extent. The only difference- they were willing to pay a rather high cost to erase that mistake.

Politics and special interests groups make the controversy surrounding abortion so complicated... they say either you are pro-life or pro-choice, but if you choose the pro-choice road, you are accused of being a "baby killer" supporter. But that is just not the case. Abortion is not all black and white- there are also grey areas. What people need to understand is that no one is pro-abortion... no one likes the idea of killing babies, but what people are is pro-choice, as in a woman should be able to choose. It's her body, and I wholeheartedly believe that no one should be able to dictate what a woman can or can't do with her body.

Personally, I would never have an abortion, but that is MY choice, BUT I can tell you that if one of my friends chose to get one done, I would be there to support her; and I would be for one reason, and one reason only- that's HER choice.

5. Favorite Song | Gold- Kiiara
I swear... this song is just so damn catchy! At first I really hated it, but then I found myself singing it, and realized I was hooked :)

So that's my Friday five for this week. I know I went a little political, but I have been wanting to tell you guys about the Cosmo article, and figured this was the best post to do it in.
