The only dry shampoo you will need this Summer

I have problem with dry shampoo. In fact, I may be a dry shampoo addict. Don't worry, I do wash my hair every 3 days, but you better be sure that on the second & third days (and possibly the fourth), I am using dry shampoo. I mean, dry shampoo is amazing! All you do is spray it in and then the oil from your scalp disappears and your hair is refreshed!

Product wise, I have tried almost every brand out there. From drug store, to high end, and even the weird DIY stuff, you name it, I have tried it. Why? Because I am one picky gal. There are four characteristics that I always look for when testing out a new dry shampoo- 1) smell, 2) residue, and 3)choke out factor, 4) weight and feeling.

One of my favorite hair product brands- HASK- just came out with four new dry shampoos last month, and I about jumped for joy. Basically, I was the dancing guy emoji because I was so excited.

For those of you who don't know what HASK is or have never heard of the brand, HASK is a cruelty-free hair care brand, all of their products are made in the USA, and are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten and artificial colors. With HASK, you get more bang for your buck. All of their products are relatively cheap, and can be found at stores like Ulta, Walgreens, Target, Walmart- you get the picture. *To learn more about HASK, visit their website

Ok, now back to the new dry shampoos. Like I said, HASK just introduced four new "flavors": Coconut, Argan, Charcoal, and Chia Seed. They are all similar, but have very different reasons to use.

  • The Argan Dry Shampoo is infused with an orange citrus scent and in my opinion, would be great for someone with rather dry hair.
  • The Coconut Dry Shampoo is infused with a tropical coconut scent and just sounds like a vacation in a bottle.
  • The Charcoal Purifying Dry Shampoo is infused with a botanical citrus scent and is also infused with a charcoal powder. Knowing the idea behind charcoal products (and even using them, myself), in my opinion, the Charcoal dry shampoo would be great for someone with a rather oily scalp or deals with oil on a regular basis.
  • The Chia Seed Volumizing Dry Shampoo is infused with a floral tea scent and due to the chia seed formula, in my opinion, in would be great for someone with lifeless, flat hair.

Each of HASK's dry shampoo boosts long-lasting oil absorption and is enriched with a ultra-fine rice starch. Personally, I was able to try out the Coconut Dry Shampoo and the Argan Dry Shampoo. My favorite was the Coconut.

Smell
The Coconut Dry Shampoo smells like a tropical oasis. It. is. wonderful. And the smell stays ALL day.

Residue
NONE! Most dry shampoos leave a white residue that makes me look like I have graying hair, but not this one. I was able to spray it on my scalp, rub it in, and not feel like I was older than 31.

Choke-out factor
Most dry shampoos have a tendency to choke me out when I spray too much- kinda like hairspray. The Coconut Dry Shampoo didn't. Sure my bathroom smelled like a tropical beach for a few seconds, but I was able to breathe.

Weight
I have rather fine and lifeless hair- sad, I know. So when I look for a dry shampoo, I always look for something that would be voluminizing and not have a waxy film. When I used the dry shampoo the first time, it didn't weigh down my hair. When I used it each time after, it still didn't weigh my hair down. It gave me some nice volume around my crown and kept my hair from getting all nasty in the summer heat.

Overall, I LOVED the HASK Coconut Dry Shampoo. It is now my new go-to and I couldn't be happier. I really believe that it smells liked summer and is worth the investment for the season. Trust me- once you use a HASK dry shampoo, you won't turn back!!

BTW, all the dry shampoos are available at ULTA! To keep up with HASK, follow them via Instagram,  FacebookTwitter, and Pinterest.
